| Isigny is
our local town about 5 mins drive away, it has lots of
interesting historical places to visit, lots of shops and
traditional French boulangeries /patisseries etc including
a lovely traditional fish shop where you can watch a
traditional French fisherman at work. There are also river
trips around the Bessin Marshlands and local area.
The fame and fortune of
Isigny was built initially on the unique taste of its
butter and on the silky texture of its crème fraiche, both
of which attained AOC status in 1986. A trip around the
production facilities shows visitors how milk is turned
into butter, crème fraiche Camembert.
During the summer months
the factory shop serves their own ice-creams, where you
can buy enormous ice-cream cones for around 2
euros. They are very popular with the locals and tourists.
They taste delicious!
